The story of Mensch Barber began in an apartment building in Bensonhurst, when a friend needed help with a buzz cut: the friend had the tools but not the skills. The Mensch used his friend’s tools, and it quickly became a weekly ritual. He then took an interest in hair, watching his own barber every time he sat in the chair. By age 16, the Mensch was running a barber shop out of his parents’ storage shed. Outgrowing the shed, the Mensch packed his bags and his tools, and took his skills on the road, working in various barber shops around NYC. His younger brother also took an interest in the profession, joining him a few years later to open Mensch Barber. Together, the brothers combine their professionalism in cutting and styling hair with their easygoing and fun-loving personalities to offer their customers a truly unique hair cutting experience.
